Data Organization in Magnetic Bubble Lattice Files
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we discuss several aspects of data organization in the framework of a recently developed magnetic bubble memory technology known as a bubble lattice file. A dynamic ordering scheme, different from those implemented in conventional T-I bar bubble memories, is proposed. This ordering is particularly suited for bubble lattices. Some performance figures are included for comparison. Introduction In the past few years, magnetic bubble memories have become increasingly important due to their potential for nonvolatile, large capacity storage. In addition to having an access time that is two orders of magnitude faster than the moving head disk, the bubble memory has features that can lead to simpler designs in controlling softwarelhardware and also to more sophisticated methods of data organization. Although there is a large body of literature (see, e.g., [ 11) on techniques for making bubble memories faster, cheaper, and higher in density, there has been relatively little discussion of bubble memory data organizations. (For some work in this area, see [281.) Furthermore, most of the discussions are restricted to T-I bar bubble memories. In this paper, we examine bubble memories in the light of bubble lattices, which promise much higher density than the traditional T-I bar technology [ 13. O u r purpose is to contrast the features of bubble lattices with other storage devices and suggest ways to make use of these features. Figure 1 Conventional BLF

Numerical Study of Bubble Separation and Motion Using Lattice Boltzmann Method
In present paper acombination of three-dimensional isothermal and two-dimensional non-isothermal Lattice Boltzmann Method have been used to simulate the motion of bubble and effect of wetting properties of the surface on bubble separation. By combining these models, three-dimensional model has been used in two-dimension for decreasing the computational cost. Firstly, it has been ensured that th...
متن کاملLocalized and delocalized motion of colloidal particles on a magnetic bubble lattice.
We study the motion of paramagnetic colloidal particles placed above magnetic bubble domains of a uniaxial garnet film and driven through the lattice by external magnetic field modulation. An external tunable precessing field propels the particles either in localized orbits around the bubbles or in superdiffusive or ballistic motion through the bubble array. This motion results from the interpl...
متن کاملTitle: Conformal Lattice of Magnetic Bubble Domains in Garnet Film
We report experimental observations of magnetic bubble domain arrays with no apparent translational symmetry. Additionally the results of comparative numerical studies are discussed. Our goal is to present experimental evidence for natural occurrence of conformal structures.
متن کاملEulerian simulation of bubble columns reactors and effect of various parameters on the gas holdup
Gas holdup and bubble size are important parameters for simulation and designing in bubble column reactors. Because based on these parameters, the available gas-liquid interfacial area is defined for mass transfer. In this paper, the results of applying magnetic fields on the velocity field and volume fraction of gas holdup are reported. Hydrodynamics of the bubble column in the reactors is inv...
متن کاملMagnetic Properties in a Spin-1 Random Transverse Ising Model on Square Lattice
In this paper we investigate the effect of a random transverse field, distributed according to a trimodal distribution, on the phase diagram and magnetic properties of a two-dimensional lattice (square with z=4), ferromagnetic Ising system consisting of magnetic atoms with spin-1. This study is done using the effectivefield theory (EFT) with correlations method. The equations are derived using...
